SUMMARY:2022 NOAA SATELLITE CONF/COLLECTIVE MADISON MEETING\, ETC\, Aug 8-12\, 2022\, Madison\, WI
DESCRIPTION:NOAA and the American Meteorological Society will hold the Collective Madison Meeting in conjunction with the 2022 NOAA Satellite Conference and several other  conferences that will all take place from August 8-12\, 2022 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison\, WI. \nThe NOAA press release on the Collective Madison Meeting says it is taking place along with \n\nthe 2022 NOAA Satellite Conference\,\nthe 25th Conference on Satellite Meteorology and Oceanography\,\nthe 17th Conference on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography\, and\nthe 16th Conference on Cloud Physics/16th Conference on Atmospheric Radiation\n\nThe NOAA media advisory says: \nMedia are invited to attend the 2022 Collective Madison Meeting hosted by NOAA and the American Meteorological Society (AMS)\, where top leaders and data users of the world’s most advanced weather satellite systems will convene in Madison\, Wisconsin from August 8-12\, 2022. \n\n\nThe theme for the meeting is “Turning the Page.” The global pandemic has caused a major disruption to society\, and the weather\, water\, and climate enterprise is proceeding with a renewed focus on exploring the changing climate and Earth system\, and proposing new observational capabilities to understand weather\, the environment\, and its hazards. The program will incorporate this theme and elements to present a shared vision for the future of remote sensing\, user applications\, and related science\, with a focus on 2030 and beyond. \nThe Collective Madison Meeting is being held concurrently with the Joint 2022 NOAA Satellite Conference and the 25th Conference on Satellite Meteorology and Oceanography\, the 17th Conference on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography\, and the 16th Conference on Cloud Physics/16th Conference on Atmospheric Radiation. The meeting will cover a range of topics on satellite science\, technology\, and innovation\, including: \n\n\n\nWeather satellite and instrument plans \n\n\nHistory of satellite meteorology\, and Madison’s importance to the development of weather satellites \n\n\nMonitoring Earth’s climate with satellites \n\n\nImpacts of weather extremes in a changing climate \n\n\nSatellite observations of the oceans and polar regions \n\n\nSatellite user preparation and training \n\nWHAT:\n2022 Collective Madison Meeting on weather satellites\, hosted by NOAA and AMS. \nWHEN:\nAugust 8-12\, 2022 \nThe conference is open to the media but reporters must register in advance by contacting Rachel Thomas-Medwid at AMS. \nWHERE:\nMonona Terrace Community and Convention Center\n1 John Nolen Drive\nMadison\, Wisconsin 537031 \nFEATURED SPEAKERS AND INVITED GUESTS INCLUDE:\nCONFIRMED: \n\nSteve Volz\, Ph.
