They were scheduled to be here through Friday\, but left last night after a stormy lunch meeting with President Trump who canceled a signing ceremony at the Capitol where he was to sign into law a housing affordability bill that just passed the House and Senate after many months of negotiations. The President is insisting that he won’t sign any legislation until Congress passes a voting bill he wants. \nThe Senate won’t return until July 13.  We’ll post an update here when this hearing is rescheduled. \n \nOriginal Entry: The Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) will hold a nomination hearing on June 25\, 2026 in Dirksen Senate Office Building SD-G50 at 9:30 am ET.  Nominees are Dr. L. Roger Mason\, Jr. to be Director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO); Erich Hernandez-Baquero to be Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (ASAF/SQ); and two others. \nThe meeting will be webcast on the committee’s website. \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Update\, July 9: NASA has finally confirmed the launch time on July 14 as 10:47 am ET\, with NASA coverage beginning at 9:45 am ET on NASA+\, Amazon Prime\, and YouTube. \nDocking is just over 3 hours later at 1:56 pm ET\, with hatch opening at 3:55 pm ET.  Coverage on the same websites begins at 1:10 pm ET for docking\, and 3:30 pm ET for hatch opening and welcome ceremonies. \nUpdate\, July 9:  NASA still has not posted a launch time\, but several sources (including this one) on the Internet now say 10:47 am ET. \nOriginal Entry: Roscosmos will launch the Soyuz MS-29 crew to the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on July 14\, 2026.  As of June 15\, NASA has not posted the launch time\, but other sources say it will be 7:43 am ET. \nThe crew members are: \n\nPyotr Dubrov (Roscosmos)\nAnna Kikina (Rocosmos)\nAnil Menon (NASA)\n\nThey will spend about 8 months on the ISS.
