SUMMARY:2nd LUNAR POLAR VOLATILES CONF\, Nov 12-14\, 2025\, Honolulu/virtual
DESCRIPTION:The 2nd Lunar Polar Volatiles Conference will take place November 12-14\, 2025 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa\, Honolulu\, Hawaii. \nA virtual option is available. \nMore information is on the event’s website\, which says: \nPurpose and Scope\nThe conference will focus on the current state of knowledge of volatiles in the lunar polar regions\, encompassing insights from orbital and in-situ missions\, modeling\, and experiments. Our goal is to advance understanding of lunar polar volatiles in preparation for upcoming robotic and human landings\, including the present-day spatial distribution of lunar polar volatiles and processes affecting their history. In addition to the science of lunar volatiles\, we also welcome presentations about the geology of the Artemis landing zones and cold-trapped volatiles on Mercury and Ceres. \nThis is the 2nd Lunar Polar Volatiles Conference following the first conference in this series held in Colorado and a precursor workshop held in Maryland\, both of which attracted a large swath of planetary science community members focused on lunar research. \n\nLunar Polar Volatiles Conference held November 2-4\, 2022 in Boulder\, Colorado\nLunar Polar Volatiles Workshop held August 7–9\, 2018 at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Library\n\nThis conference aims to build on this community and the excitement of present and upcoming missions focused on exploring lunar volatiles\, from orbital assets to Artemis. The unique meeting location at University of Hawaii at Manoa is also aimed to encourage participation from Asia-Pacific based research communities.
