SUMMARY:ARTEMIS I LAUNCH (3RD ATTEMPT)\, ?? \, 2022\, KSC
DESCRIPTION:Update\, September 26: NASA decided this morning to roll Artemis I back to the Vehicle Assembly Building for safety. Ian is now a hurricane.  October 2 no longer is a potential launch date. The next launch window opens on October 17. \nUpdate\, September 24: The launch has been delayed due to Tropical Storm Ian. NASA will decide tomorrow (September 25) whether to roll the SLS/Orion stack back to the Vehicle Assembly Building for safety\, which will determine when they can try again. October 2 is a backup launch opportunity if they do not need to roll back. \nOriginal Entry: As of September 17\, NASA is planning to try to launch the Artemis I uncrewed test flight of the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft on September 27\, 2022 at 11:37 am ET from Kennedy Space Center\, FL. \nThe first two attempts on August 29 and  September 3 were scrubbed for unrelated reasons. \nThe September 27 launch date is contingent on a number of factors including the results of a tanking test on September 21\, the Space Force granting a waiver for a critical battery on the Flight Termination System\, and weather.  Stay tuned for updates. \nNASA TV will cover the launch live.
