DESCRIPTION:Update\, April 7:  The time for this event has changed from 3:30 pm ET to 5:00 pm ET.  Check NASA’s continually- updated list of events for further updates. \nOriginal Entry: Following the successful launch of the Artemis II mission that is taking NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman\, Victor Glover\, and Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen around the Moon for the first time since the Apollo era\, NASA is providing 24/7 coverage on its YouTube website\, daily press briefings that will air on that website\, and a number of live downlink events. \nThis schedule is posted on NASA’s website as of April 2\, but times are subject to change. \n  \nTimes below are subject to change based on the exact time of launch and mission operations. \nThursday\, April 2 \n7:49 p.m.: Planned translunar injection burn for five minutes and 49 seconds pending mission management team’s approval \n8:30 p.m.: Mission status media briefing after the translunar injection burn to send the crew in Orion toward the Moon. \n10:24 p.m.: Live downlink event \nFriday\, April 3 \n3:30 p.m.: Mission status briefing \n8:44 p.m.: Live downlink event \nSaturday\, April 4 \n12:59 a.m.: Live CSA downlink event \n4:34 p.m.: Live downlink event \n5:15 p.m.: Mission status briefing \nSunday\, April 5 \n12:14 a.m.: Live CSA downlink event \n3:30 p.m.: Mission status briefing \nMonday\, April 6 \n12:45 p.m.: NASA+ coverage of lunar flyby begins. \n1:45 p.m.: For a launch on April 1\, the crew is expected to surpass the record for human’s farthest distance from Earth previously set by Apollo 13\, at 248\,655 miles from Earth. \nAdditionally\, for a launch that day\, video during the lunar flyby may be limited while the spacecraft flies through an eclipse. The crew also is expected to temporarily experience a loss of communications with Earth as the Orion flies behind the Moon’s far side. \n10:39 p.m.: Live downlink event \nTuesday\, April 7 \n2:29 p.m.: The Artemis II crew will speak with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station in an audio-only conversation. \n4 p.m.: Mission status briefing \nWednesday\, April 8 \n3:30 p.m.: Mission status briefing \n7:09 p.m.: Live CSA downlink event \nThursday\, April 9 \n3:30 p.m.: Mission status briefing \n5:59 p.m.: Crew news conference \n7:54 p.m.: Live downlink event \nFriday\, April 10 \n6:30 p.m.: NASA+ coverage of the crew’s return to Earth begins \n8:06 p.m.: Splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
