SUMMARY:ASSESSING THE IMPLICATIONS OF CHINA'S RISE AS A SPACE POWER (CSIS)\, Dec 17\, 2025\, virtual\, 3:30-4:30 pm ET
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold a webinar on December 17\, 2025 from 3:30-4:30 pm ET on “Assessing the Implications of China’s Rise As a Space Power.” \nMore information is on the event’s website\, which says: \nIn November 2025\, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission released its annual report to Congress\, highlighting Beijing’s pursuit of an ambitious and coordinated whole-of-government space strategy aimed at establishing China as the leading world power in space. As part of that strategy\, China is expanding its space launch\, satellite manufacturing\, and on-orbit space infrastructure to give the People’s Liberation Army a battlefield advantage\, power civilian and commercial innovation\, and generate economic growth and development. \nPlease join the CSIS Aerospace Security Project on Wednesday\, December 17\, 2025\, at 3:30 p.m. ET\, for a virtual discussion with Hon. Randall Schriver\, vice chair of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission; Michael Kuiken\, commissioner of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission; Kari Bingen\, director of the CSIS Aerospace Security Project; and Clayton Swope\, deputy director of the Aerospace Security Project. The conversation will examine China’s space strategy\, its implications to U.S. national and economic security\, and how the United States should respond to China’s growing space power. \n \n
