DESCRIPTION:The Axiom-3 (Ax-3) private astronaut crew’s departure from the International Space Station was delayed several days due to bad weather in the splash down zones off the Florida coast. \nThey finally undocked from the ISS at 9:20 am ET on February 7.  It will be almost 47 hours before they splash down\, however. That’s scheduled for 8:30 am ET on Friday\, February 9\, off the coast of Daytona\, FL. \nAxiom Space will webcast the splashdown starting at 7:25 am ET. \n\nThe #Ax3 crew has a 47-hour ride before splashdown in Daytona Beach\, FL. Credit: Axiom Space\nThe three passengers — Marcus Wandt (ESA/Sweden)\, Wallter Villadei (Italy) and Alper Gezeravci ((Türkiye) — are all military pilots for their governments\, but their governments purchased seats for them on this private mission so this is a “private astronaut” or “commercial astronaut” mission nonetheless. Commander Michael López-Alegria is an Axiom employee and record-holding former NASA astronaut. He holds dual citizenship in Spain and the United States\, so Axiom calls this the first all-European space crew.
