DESCRIPTION:The American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) will hold a “Biology Beyond Low Earth Orbit” workshop the day before its annual conference at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Houston\, TX. \nThe workshop is 1:00-5:00 pm CENTRAL TIME. \nMore information is on the event’s website\, which says: \nBiology Beyond Low Earth Orbit \nPre-ASGSR workshop to be held on Wednesday Nov 9\, 2022 (1pm – 5pm CT): \nThe overall objective of the workshop is to discuss conducting biology experiments beyond low Earth orbit (LEO) and present the challenges and the paths forward. In part\, we will highlight some of the spaceflight stressors that we anticipate will cause biological changes beyond LEO and discuss what is currently known about these changes. Platforms that can be utilized to conduct science experiments beyond LEO will also be discussed. \nNASA’s Space Biology program (Biological and Physical Sciences Division) and the Human Research Program are working together to present this information to the ASGSR community. \n
