DESCRIPTION:The street in front of NASA HQ in Washington\, DC will be renamed “Hidden Figures Way” to honor Katherine Johnson\, Dorothy Vaughn\, and Mary Jackson\, who were featured in the book and movie Hidden Figures\, and other women “who have dedicated their lives to honorably serving their country\, advancing equality\, and contributing to the United States space program.” \nA ceremony will take place on June 12\, 2019 at 10:00 am ET with family members representing the women.  Also participating are: \n\nJim Bridenstine\, NASA Administration\nSen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)\nPhil Mendelson\, D.C. Council Chairman\nMargot Lee Shetterly\, author\, Hidden Figures\n\nThe event will be webcast on Sen. Cruz’s Facebook page. \nVideo and images from the event will be available on NASA’s media resources website. \nThis event will be followed at 1:00 pm ET by a STEM in 30 live chat hosted by the National Air and Space Museum with Shetterly and mathematician Christine Darden.
