DESCRIPTION:Update\, August 23:  Organizers now say the conference will take place in a hybrid model\, with some events in-person in Sydney and others virtual.   More information is on the event’s website. \nUpdate\, March 30:  This conference has been postponed to January 28-February 4\, 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.  It now is called COSPAR 2021 instead of COSPAR 2020.  COSPAR emailed this message today. \n\n\n\nThe leadership of COSPAR and the Local Organizing Committee for COSPAR 2020 in Sydney\, Australia have concluded that with the worldwide pandemic and accompanying social and economic disruption\, COSPAR 2020 must be postponed. \nThe new dates for the 43rd COSPAR Scientific Assembly will be 28 January – 4 February 2021 and hereafter will be referred to as COSPAR 2021. \nThe extensive planning and preparations for COSPAR 2020 are completely transferable to the new dates\, by which time we anticipate that the thirst for knowledge and personal collaboration throughout the global space research community can and will be met with an extremely successful COSPAR Scientific Assembly in Australia. \nWe sincerely hope that the entire COSPAR community is able to remain healthy and that the extraordinary efforts underway to contain the coronavirus and preserve economic security are successful. \nIn the meantime\, let’s continue to work together virtually so that we ensure a Sydney summer in January 2021 will both brighten our outlook and continue our cause of promoting and facilitating international cooperation and advances in space research.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistrations already submitted for the COSPAR 2020 Assembly are immediately applicable to COSPAR 2021\, as are the hotel bookings that have been secured through the Local Organising Committee. \nThe Early Bird date is now 31 October 2020.\n\n\n\n  \nOriginal Entry: The 43rd COSPAR Assembly will take place August 15-22\, 2020 at the International Convention Center in Sydney\, Australia.  COSPAR is the Committee on Space Research of the International Council of Scientific Unions.  The biennial COSPAR assemblies bring together the world’s top space scientists to discuss research findings and plans for the future. \nMore information is on the COSPAR 2020 website.
