DESCRIPTION:Northrop Grumman will launch its next Cygnus cargo resupply mission\, NG-11\, to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 17\, 2019 at 4:46 pm ET from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility\, VA.  It will deliver 7\,600 pounds (3\,450 kilograms) of supplies and scientific equipment to the ISS. \nNASA procures cargo services from Northrop Grumman under the Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) contract.  This is the final launch under the original CRS contract (CRS-1).  The first launch under the new CRS-2 contract is expected this fall. \nNorthrop Grumman names its Cygnus spacecraft after astronauts or other major contributors to the human spaceflight program who have died.  This one is named in honor of astronaut Roger Chaffee who perished in the Apollo 1 fire on January 27\, 1967. \nNASA TV launch coverage begins at 4:15 pm ET. \nA post launch press briefing will take place at 8:15 pm ET.  Participants are: \n\nJoel Montalbano\, deputy manager\, International Space Station Program deputy manager\nFrank DeMauro\, vice president and general manager\, Space Systems\, Northrop Grumman\nKurt Eberly\, Antares vice president\, Northrop Grumman\nPete Hasbrook\, manager\, International Space Station Program Science Office\n\nNASA’s viewing map for the launch showing where it should be able to be seen along the East Coast\, weather permitting\, is below.
