DESCRIPTION:The European Space Agency (ESA) will hold a pre-launch press conference with its astronaut\, Matthias Maurer\, on September 9\, 2021 at 9:00 am CEST (3:00 am EDT) at ESA’s European Astronaut Centre in Cologne\, Germany and virtually. \nMaurer is scheduled to launch to the International Space Station on SpaceX’s Crew-3 mission no earlier than October 31\, 2021.  His three crewmates are NASA astronauts Kayla Barron\, Tom Marshburn and Raja Chari. \nThe news conference will be held in German and English and will be livestreamed at esawebtv.esa.int. \nParticipants are: \n\nJosef Aschbacher\, ESA Director General (joining remotely)\nDavid Parker\, ESA Director Human and Robotic Exploration (joining remotely)\nFrank De Winne\, ESA International Space Station Programme Manager and Head of EAC\nWalther Pelzer\, Director General of the German Space Agency at DLR\, Member of the DLR Executive Board\nMatthias Maurer\, ESA Astronaut
