SUMMARY:FIRST COMMERCIAL LAUNCH OF SPACEX FALCON HEAVY WITH ARABSAT-6A\, Apr 11\, 2019\, KSC\, 6:35 pm ET (webcast)
DESCRIPTION:Update\, April 10:  The launch was postponed due to upper level winds.  They will try again tomorrow\, April 11\, at 6:35 pm ET.  The launch window is open until 8:31 pm ET.  \nUpdate\, April 8: the launch has been postponed to Wednesday\, April 10\, at 6:35 pm ET. The window is open until 8:52 pm ET.  The weather forecast is 80% “go.” \nOriginal Entry: SpaceX will conduct the first commercial launch of its Falcon Heavy rocket on April 9\, 2019 at 6:36 pm EDT from Kennedy Space Center\, FL.  The payload is the Arabsat-6A communications satellite.  Falcon Heavy essentially uses three Falcon 9 rockets strapped together. SpaceX will attempt to recover all three of them\, two on land and one on an autonomous drone ship off the coast of Florida. \n\nStatic fire of Falcon Heavy complete—targeting April 9 launch of Arabsat-6A from Launch Complex 39A in Florida \n— SpaceX (@SpaceX) April 5\, 2019 \n \nThe weather forecast as of April 7 was poor\, however\, with only a 30 percent chance of “go.”  If there is a 24 hour delay\, the forecast improves to 80 percent. \nA test launch of Falcon Heavy in February 2018 was a success.  This is the first flight of the rocket since then.
