DESCRIPTION:The House is scheduled to take up several bills on July 25\, 2023 on the suspension calendar including two related to satellite telecommunications: \n\nH.R. 682\, Launch Communications Act\, pertaining to spectrum for commercial launches and reentries and\nH.R. 1338\, the Satellite and Telecommunications Streamlining Act (SAT Streamliming) to streamline the FCC’s satellite licensing process.\n\nBills on the suspension calendar are relatively noncontroversial and allowed to shortcut the usual process by avoiding the Rules Committee\, but must pass by a two-thirds vote instead of  simple majority (they are take up by the House “under suspension of the rules”). \nThe time for their consideration is TBD.
