DESCRIPTION:The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) will host a “lunch and learn” information session on Capitol Hill on September 5\, 2018 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm ET in 2325 Rayburn House Office Building. \nThe topic is: “The Importance of Radio Spectrum to the Competitiveness of the Commercial Space Industry.” \nSpeakers are: \n\nRep. Brian Babin (R-TX)\, chairman of the Space Subcommittee of the House Science\, Space\, and Technology Committee\nPanel Discussion\n\nTom Stroup\, President\, SIA (moderator)\nMary Lynne Dittmar\, President and CEO\, Coalition for Deep Space Exploration\nEric Stallmer\, President\, Commercial Spaceflight Federation\nTami Plofchan\, Director\, Aerospace Industries Association\nDavid Grossman\, Executive Director\, GPS Innovation Alliance\n\n\n\nThe sponsors describe the event as follows: \nThe United States has a strong and entrepreneurial satellite communications industry\, available to engage in global competition.
