Update, July 9, noon: ESA has tweeted that the launch is now targeted for 3:00 pm EDT (4:00 pm local time) instead of 2:00 pm EDT. A post-launch press conference is scheduled for midnight CEST, which is 6:00 pm EDT.

Update, July 7: Ariane 6 is “go” for launch on Tuesday, July 9. ESA will provide live coverage beginning 30 minutes before launch on ESA TV.
✅We have a GO for #Ariane6 launch on 9 July, given by @ESA‘s Director of Space Transportation and ESA’s Inspector General who have just chaired the ‘Launch Readiness Review’.

Update, July 4: ESA has provided the launch window for July 9, which is 2:00-6:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (18:00-22:00 UTC).
Other time zones are listed in the ESA tweet. The launch is from Europe’s launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, so local time is the Atlantic Time Zone. BST is British Summer Time. CEST is Central European Summer Time.

Original entry: The European Space Agency has set July 9, 2024 for the long-awaited first launch of the new Ariane 6 rocket. The final Ariane 5 lifted off in July 2023.
