Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States and Mike Pence as Vice President on January 20, 2017, Inauguration Day.
It is not a federal holiday, but federal offices and some businesses in the Washington DC area will be closed. The Washington Post has a list of what will be open or not.
The formal inaugural ceremonies are organized by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, which should post details in due course. The presidential oath of office is typically administered at 12:00 noon ET.
The incoming President usually also has his own committee to organize related events.
