SUMMARY:INNOVATION IN SPACE ROUNDTABLE (DOE/UNIV OF TULSA)\, Sept 15\, 2020\, virtual\, 2:00-3:30 pm ET
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Energy (DOE) and the University of Tulsa will hold a virtual roundtable discussion on September 15\, 2020 from 1:00-2:30 pm Central Time (2:00-3:30 pm Eastern) on Innovation in Space and “how DOE assets support human health in space\, how advanced materials are utilized in space and where sectors like AI and big data can support commercial space and deep space exploration.” \nParticipants are: \n\nJim Bridenstine\, NASA Administrator\nPaul Dabber\, DOE Office of Science Under Secretary\n\nRegistration and submission of questions is required by September 11.  Details on how to join the discussion will be emailed to those who register. \nThe emailed announcement is reproduced below. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe University of Tulsa (TU) is honored to host and invite you to attend the Innovation in Space Roundtable in collaboration with Department of Energy Under Secretary of Science Paul Dabbar and NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine as they explore opportunities for collaboration between DOE and NASA in space innovation. \nThis roundtable discussion/webinar will take place at TU from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Central) Tuesday\, Sept. 15\, and will focus on how DOE assets support human health in space\, how advanced materials are utilized in space and where sectors like AI and big data can support commercial space and deep space exploration. \nAs you may know\, the Department of Energy’s Office of Science is the nation’s largest supporter of basic research in the physical sciences\, the steward of 10 of the department’s 17 national laboratories and the lead federal agency supporting fundamental research for energy production and security. \nPlease complete the form located at the link below to register and submit any questions and/or topics of interest that you would like the roundtable to address.\n\nWe ask that you RSVP and submit questions no later than Friday\, Sept. 11.
