DESCRIPTION:UPDATE\, November 8:  The launch is now scheduled for November 14 and these pre-launch briefings will take place on November 12 at the same times as previously planned. \nUPDATE\, November 7:  The launch has been postponed until No Earlier Than (NET) November 14.  These briefings are being rescheduled\, date and time TBA. \nOriginal Story:  NASA and NOAA will hold two pre-launch briefings in advance of the launch of NOAA’s JPSS-1 weather satellite\, the first of a new series of polar-orbiting weather satellites.  Launch is currently scheduled for November 10 from Vandenberg Air Force Base\, CA at 1:47 am Pacific Time (4:47 am Eastern).  The briefings will take place two days before launch so if the launch date slips\, so will the date for these briefings.  They will be broadcast on NASA TV. \nPre-launch status briefing\, 1:00 pm PT (4:00 pm ET) \nBriefing participants will be: \n\nSteve Volz\, director\, NOAA’s Satellite and Information Service\nGreg Mandt\, director\, Joint Polar Satellite System Program\nSandra Smalley\, director\, Joint Agency Satellite Division\, NASA Headquarters\nOmar Baez\, NASA launch director\nScott Messer\, United Launch Alliance program manager for NASA missions\nCapt.
