DESCRIPTION:The launch of NOAA’s GOES-T geostationary weather satellite on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is scheduled for March 1\, 2022 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 4:38 pm ET.  It has a two-hour launch window. \nOnce in orbit and operational\, it will be renamed GOES-18 and replace GOES-17 as the “GOES-West” satellite covering the western part of the United States. \nNASA TV coverage of the launch begins at 4:00 pm ET on March 1 on NASA Television\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website. \n(A science briefing is scheduled for February 25 and a pre-launch briefing for February 26 — see our separate calendar entries for those events).
