SUMMARY:LAUNCH OF NG-10 CYGNUS CARGO MISSION TO ISS\, Nov 17\, 2018\, Wallops Island\, VA\, 4:01 am ET (NASA TV)
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE\, Nov 15:  The launch has again been postponed due to weather.  The new launch date/time is Saturday\, November 17\, at 4:01 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins 3:30 am ET. \nUPDATE\, Nov 14:  The launch has been delayed one day due to weather.  Launch now is scheduled for Friday\, November 16\, at 04:23 am ET.  NASA TV coverage will begin at 4:00 am ET.  If the launch goes on time\, Cygnus will arrive at the ISS on Sunday morning about 4:30 am ET. \nUPDATE\, Nov 13:   The weather forecast is only 30% favorable for the launch as of 6:30 pm ET today. \nNorthrop Grumman will launch the next Cygnus Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on November 15\, 2018 from Wallops Island\, VA. The 5-minute launch window opens 4:49 am ET. \nNASA TV coverage begins 4:15 am ET.  If the sky is clear\, the launch should be visible in the mid-Atlantic area.  NASA provided this viewing map. \n \n  \nThe Cygnus commercial cargo spacecraft was developed by Orbital Sciences Corporation and the first three launches were designated “Orb” (the third was a failure). \nOrbital merged with ATK to become Orbital ATK and the next six were designated “OA.” \nOrbital ATK was acquired by Northrop Grumman in 2018 so they are now designated “NG.”  This is the first to be launched with that label — NG-10. \nMost of the Cygnus spacecraft are launched using the Antares rocket\, developed by Orbital/Orbital ATK\, from Wallops Island\, VA\, but sometimes on the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral\, FL. \nThis launch is on Antares from Wallops. \nNASA is holding two pre-launch briefings on November 13 and 14\, and a post-launch briefing on November 15.  See our separate calendar entries for those events.
