DESCRIPTION:The United Launch Alliance (ULA) is scheduled to launch the next in NOAA’s new series of advanced Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites\, GOES-S\, on March 1\, 2018 at 5:02 pm ET on an Atlas V rocket.  The launch window is open for 2 hours. \nGOES-S is the second of the “GOES-R” series of four weather satellites.  GOES-R itself was launched in 2016 and is now operational.  It has been renamed GOES-16.  GOES-S will become GOES-17 once it is in orbit. \nGOES-T and GOES-U will be launched in later years.
