DESCRIPTION:Update\, July 2:  The L-1011 lifted off\, but a problem with the Pegasus rocket was detected that prevented launch. Teams are reviewing data before setting a new launch date. \nUpdate\, July 1:  It’s another weather scrub today. They’ll try again tomorrow\, July 2\, at 5:09 am EDT. \nUpdate\, June 30:  The launch was scrubbed due to weather.  They’ll try again tomorrow\, July 1\, at 5:43 am ET.  More information is on this NASA website. \nUpdate\, June 26:  NASA Goddard Space Flight Center says the new target launch date is June 30 at 6:23 am EDT (10:23 pm local time at Kwajalein). \nOriginal Entry: NASA will launch a mission to try and reboost the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory using Northrop Grumman’s Pegasus XL air-launched rocket and Katalyst Space’s LINK spacecraft. Launched in 2004\, Swift’s orbit is decaying. Scientists would like to continue using it to study gamma ray bursts if LINK can boost it back into a stable orbit. \nPegasus XL will take off aboard a specially-designed Northrop Grumman L-1011 aircraft named Stargazer from Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific Ocean in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. \nAt a June 17 NASA press conference\, Katalyst’s Kieran Wilson said the target launch date is June 27\, 2026. \nSources on the web say that that launch date is in Pacific Time\, and the launch window is open 2:00 am-7:28 am Pacific Daylight Time.
