DESCRIPTION:The 53rd Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC 2022) will take place at its usual location\, The Woodlands\, Texas\, from March 7-11\, 2022.  Organizers had to hold the meeting virtually in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic\, but will resume this conference on an in-person basis in 2022\, although global virtual participation is also possible. \nMore information is on the event’s website. \nNASA will hold three “Town Hall” meetings during the conference: \n\nTuesday\, March 8\, 1:00 pm Central Time (2:00 pm Eastern): NASA Planetary Science\n\nLori Glaze\, NASA Planetary Science Division Director\nJoel Kearns\, NASA Deputy Associate Administrator for Exploration\nJeffrey Gramling\, NASA Mars Sample Return Program Director\nJacob Bleacher\, NASA Chief Exploration Scientist\n\n\nWednesday\, March 9\, 11:45 am Central Time (12:45 pm Eastern): Artemis\n\nJacob Bleacher\, NASA Chief Exploration Scientist\nSarah Noble\, NASA Planetary Science Division Program Scientist\n\n\nThursday\, March 10\, 1:00 pm Central Time (2:00 pm Eastern): R&A\n\nStephen Rinehart\, NASA Planetary Research Program Director\n\n\n\n  \nThe Masursky Lecture is on Monday\, March 7\, at 1:00 pm Central Time (2:00 pm Eastern).  It will be presented this year by Wesleyan University professor Martha Gilmore who will discuss “To Venus and Back Again.”
