DESCRIPTION:NASA will make an announcement about its Solar Probe Plus mission on May 31\, 2017 at 11:00 ET from the University of Chicago’s William Eckhardt Research Center Auditorium in Chicago\, IL.  It will be broadcast on NASA TV. \nSolar Probe Plus is scheduled for launch in the summer of 2018.  It will orbit the Sun at a distance of just 4 million miles from its surface\, flying through its outer atmosphere — the first spacecraft to “touch” the Sun. \nParticipants in the briefing are: \n\nThomas Zurbuchen\, NASA Associate Administrator\, Science Mission Directorate\nNicola Fox\, mission project scientist\, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab\nEugene Parker\, S.
