SUMMARY:NASA BRIEFING ON TENSIONING OF JWST SUNSHIELD\, Jan 4\, 2022\, virtual\, 12:45 pm ET
DESCRIPTION:Update\, January 4:  The briefing took place at 12:45 pm ET today with just 30 minutes notice\, immediately after the fifth and final sunshield layer was successfully tensioned. \nUpdate\, January 3\, 10:00 am ET:  NASA just announced a telecon at 11:30 am ET morning\, but apparently it is an update on the overall process\, not specifically the tensioning.  Its updated press release lists these briefings: \n \nUpdate\, January 2\, 2:00 pm ET:  NASA just announced that it is delaying the start of tensioning until tomorrow (January 3)\, which would mean it will be completed no earlier than Tuesday\, January 4. They have not specified when the briefings will take place\, however\, other than telling us it will not be today. Our guess is that it will January 4 or later. We will keep this entry as up to date as possible. \nOriginal Entry: NASA will hold a media briefing after tensioning of the James Webb Space Telescope sunshield is completed. The timing of the tensioning\, and therefore the briefing\, are tentative\, but the latter could take place on January 3\, 2022.  Check back here for further information when it becomes available.
