DESCRIPTION:Update\, July 10:  NASA says the press conference on July 12 now will start at 12:30 pm ET instead of 12:00 pm ET.  It also said that President Biden will release one of the images on July 11\, the day before these events. \nUpdate\, July 7: NASA has added a briefing at 9:45 am ET prior to release of the images with opening remarks by agency and Webb leadership. Participants were not announced today but it will air on NASA TV\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website just like the other events on July 12. \nAs of now\, this is the schedule and the participants at the 12:00 press conference: \n9:45 a.m. – Live\, opening remarks by agency and Webb leadership will air on NASA TV\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website ahead of the first images release. \n10:30 a.m. – Live coverage of the image release broadcast will air on NASA TV\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website. The public also can watch live on Facebook\, Twitter\, YouTube\, Twitch\, and Daily Motion. \n12 p.m. – Following the live broadcast\, NASA and its partners will hold a joint media briefing at NASA Goddard. The briefing will livestream on NASA TV\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website. Participants include: \n\nEric Smith\, Webb program scientist and Astrophysics Division chief scientist\, NASA Headquarters\nKnicole Colón\, Webb deputy project scientist for exoplanet science\, NASA Goddard\nRené Doyon\, principal investigator for the Canadian Near-Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph\, University of Montreal\nChristopher Evans\, Webb project scientist\, ESA\nKlaus Pontoppidan\, Webb project scientist\, STScI\nJane Rigby\, Webb operations project scientist\, NASA Goddard\nAmber Straughn\, Webb deputy project scientist for communications\, NASA Goddard\n\nOriginal Entry: NASA\, ESA and the Canadian Space Agency will release the first full color images and spectroscopic data from the James Webb Space Telescope on July 12\, 2022. \nAt 10:30 am ET\, the first images will be released on NASA TV\, the NASA app\, and the agency’s website.
