DESCRIPTION:The NASA History Office will host two events on May 5\, 2021 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Alan Shepard becoming the first American in space. \nAt 11:00 am ET\, it will hold a panel discussion about 60 years of human spaceflight with the following participants: \n\nBill Barry\, former head of the NASA History Office\nTeasel Muir-Harmony\, curator of the Project Apollo collection at the National Air and Space Museum and author of “Apollo to the Moon: A History in 50 Objects”\nMargaret Weitekamp\, Curator and Chair of the Space History Department at the National Air and Space Museum\nKathy Lueders\, NASA Associate Administrator for Human Exploration and Operations\n\nThat will be streamed on NASALive\, Twitter\, and Facebook. \n  \nAt 12:00 pm ET\, the History Office will host a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) with historians from NASA and the Air and Space Museum on  r/history.
