DESCRIPTION:Update\, August 23\, 3:00 pm ET:  NASA just announced that the spacewalk has been postponed due to a “minor medical issue involving Vande Hei. This issue is not a medical emergency.” NASA still deciding when it will take place\, but will be after SpX-23 and the Russian spacewalks. \nVande Hei later tweeted that the problem is a pinched nerve in his neck. \n\nThanks for everyone’s concern. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that caused us to reschedule today’s spacewalk. The support from family\, friends\, and NASA leadership has been fantastic. Vande Hei (@Astro_Sabot) August 24\, 2021 \n \nOriginal entry: NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei and JAXA astronaut Aki Hoshide will conduct a spacewalk at the International Space Station (ISS) on August 24\, 2021 beginning at approximately 8:30 am ET.  The spacewalk is expected to last about 6 hours and 3o minutes. \nNASA TV coverage begins at 7:00 am ET. \nVande Hei and Hoshide are scheduled to install a “modification kit” that will enable installation of an iROSA solar array during a subsequent spacewalk. They will also replace a device that measures the electrical charging potential of the arrays and associated surfaces in its vicinity.
