SUMMARY:NASA LUNAR EXPLORATION ANALYSIS GROUP (LEAG)\, Sept 14-16\, 2020\, virtual
DESCRIPTION:NASA’s Lunar Exploration Analysis Group (LEAG) will hold its annual meeting virtually this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.  It will take place September 14-16\, 2020.  More information is on the LEAG website. \nThe agenda is posted.  NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine is scheduled to speak on Monday at 10:40 am ET. \nSome of the talks are pre-recorded. \nThe overall theme is: “The Value of a Sustained Human Presence on the Surface of the Moon.” According to the website: \nDay 1 will focus on updates from NASA mission directorates\, including the Science Mission Directorate’s Lunar Discovery and Exploration Program\, the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate\, and Space Technology Mission Directorate Project Artemis plans\, followed by community discussion time. The day will conclude with lightning talks of submitted posters and a virtual poster session. \nDay 2 will focus on updates from the Decadal Survey\, international partners and collaboration\, and findings from the first two Lunar Surface Science Workshop meetings. The day will conclude with lightning talks of submitted posters and a virtual poster session. \nDay 3 will focus on the science that can be achieved at the lunar south pole from the Artemis Base Camp and will consist of invited and submitted talks that highlight the value of the Artemis Base Camp followed by an extensive community discussion. The day will conclude with lightning talks of submitted posters and a virtual poster session. \n
