DESCRIPTION:NASA will hold a media teleconference on November 16\, 2021 at 1:00 pm ET to discuss the upcoming launch of the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) satellite as part of DOD’s STP-3 mission. The launch is currently scheduled on December 4. \nParticipants are: \n\nTrudy Kortes\, director of technology demonstrations\, NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD)\nBadri Younes\, deputy associate administrator\, NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program\nDave Israel\, LCRD principal investigator\, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt\, Maryland\nMiriam Wennersten\, LCRD ground segment manager\, Goddard\nAbi Biswas\, deep space optical communications technologist and group supervisor of the Optical Communications group at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California\n\nAudio will stream on NASA Live. \nImmediately afterwards\, NASA Television\, the NASA App\, and the agency’s website will air a NASA Edge laser communications show.
