SUMMARY:NASA UPDATE ON ARTEMIS PROGRAM\, Oct 23\, 2026\, DC\, 2:00 pm ET
DESCRIPTION:NASA will provide an update on the status of the Artemis program on October 23\, 2026 at 2:00 pm ET at NASA HQ in Washington\, DC. \nParticipants are: \n\nNASA Administrator Jared Isaacman\nNASA Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya\nJeremy Parsons\, NASA’s Artemis program manager\n\nThe event will be livestreamed. Check NASA Live for the link(s). \nFollowing the successful Artemis I uncrewed test flight around the Moon in 2022\, and the successful Artemis II crewed test flight around the Moon earlier this year\, NASA is preparing to launch Artemis III in 2027. \nUnlike the first two missions\, Artemis III will not go to the Moon. It’s an earth-orbiting mission to test rendezvous and docking operations with test versions of the two landers that will ferry astronauts between lunar orbit and the lunar surface — SpaceX’s Human Landing System (HLS) version of Starship and Blue Origin’s Blue Moon Mk2. \nIf all goes according to plan\, one of those will land NASA astronauts back on the lunar surface in 2028 for the first time since the Apollo program ended in 1972.
