DESCRIPTION:The National Space-Based Positioning\, Navigation\, and Timing (PNT) Advisory Board will meet June 6-7\, 2019 at the Westin Hotel\, Alexandria Old Town\, Alexandria VA.  The meeting on June 6 is 8:30 am – 5:30 pm ET and on June 7 is 9:00 am – 1:00 pm ET. \nFurther details are in the Federal Register notice\, which is reproduced below.  There is no indication the meeting will be webcast or otherwise available remotely. \n  \nSUMMARY: In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act\, as \namended\, and the President's 2004 U.S. Space-Based Positioning\, \nNavigation and Timing Policy\, the National Aeronautics and Space \nAdministration (NASA) announces a meeting of the National Space-Based \nPositioning\, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Advisory Board.\n\nDATES: Thursday\, June 6\, 2019\, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Friday\, June \n7\, 2019\, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, Eastern Time.\n\nADDRESSES: The Westin Hotel\, Alexandria Old Town\, 400 Courthouse \nSquare\, Alexandria\, VA 22314.\n\nFOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Mr. James J. Visitors will be requested to sign a \nvisitor's register.\n    The agenda for the meeting includes the following topics:\n     Examine methods in which to Protect\, Toughen\, and Augment \n(PTA) access to Global Positioning System (GPS)/Global Navigation \nSatellite Systems (GNSS) services in key domains for multiple user \nsectors.\n     Examine emerging trends and requirements for PNT services \nin U.S. and international fora through PNT Advisory Board technical \nassessments\, including back-up services for terrestrial\, maritime\, \naviation\, and space users.\n     Update on U.S. Space-Based PNT Policy and GPS \nmodernization.\n\n[[Page 21837]]\n\n     Explore opportunities for enhancing the interoperability \nof GPS with other emerging international GNSS.\n     Prioritize current and planned GPS capabilities and \nservices while assessing future PNT architecture alternatives with a \nfocus on affordability.\n     Assess economic impacts of GPS/GNSS on the United States \nand in select international regions\, with a consideration towards \neffects of potential PNT service disruptions if radio spectrum \ninterference is introduced.\n     Review the potential benefits\, perceived vulnerabilities\, \nand any proposed regulatory constraints to accessing foreign Radio \nNavigation Satellite Service (RNSS) signals in the United States and \nsubsequent impacts on multi-GNSS receiver markets.\n    It is imperative that the meeting be held on these dates to \naccommodate the scheduling priorities of the key participants.\n\n
