SUMMARY:NG-21 CARGO MISSION ARRIVES AT ISS\, Aug 6\, 2024\, Earth orbit\, 3:10 am ET
DESCRIPTION:Update\, August 5: NASA reports that the Cygnus engines have now fired correctly and the spacecraft will arrive at the ISS as originally planned at 3:10 am ET tomorrow morning. NASA coverage remains the same. \nUpdate\, August 4:  The Cygnus spacecraft’s engines did not fire as they were supposed to after separating from the Falcon 9 second stage.  NASA and Northrop Grumman are troubleshooting the issue. More information will be provided later as to whether Cygnus can still make it to the ISS and\, if so\, when. We’ll post any new information we get here. \nOriginal Entry: Northrop Grumman’s 21st cargo resupply mission\, NG-21\, to the International Space Station successfully launched on August 4\, 2024 and will arrive at the ISS on August 6. \nNorthrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft don’t dock\, but are berthed to the ISS after being captured by the Canadarm2 robotic arm.  Capture is scheduled for about 3:10 am ET. Ground controllers later will install it onto one of the two ISS berthing ports. \nNASA will provide live coverage of rendezvous\, capture and installation begnining at 1:30 am ET. \n \n
