A public webinar link will be available.  (This meeting originally was to take place November 5-6\, 2025\, but postponed due to the government shutdown.) \nMore information is in the Federal Register notice\, which is reproduced below\, and on the event’s website. \nDEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE\n\nNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration\n\n\nScience Advisory Board\n\nAGENCY: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)\, \nDepartment of Commerce (DOC).\n\nACTION: Notice of public meeting.\n\n-----------------------------------------------------------------------\n\nSUMMARY: This notice sets forth a new schedule and proposed agenda for \na meeting of the NOAA Science Advisory Board (SAB) that was originally \nscheduled for November 5-6\, 2025. During this new scheduled SAB \nmeeting\, the members will discuss issues outlined in the section on \nMatters to be considered.\n\nDATES: The meeting is scheduled for March 10-11\, 2026\, from 9:00 a.m. \nto 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). The time and the agenda topics \ndescribed below are subject to change. In 2017\, the SAB became a non-discretionary committee when \nCongress mandated that the SAB shall continue to maintain two specific \nsubcommittees [Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017 \n(Pub. L. 115-25) Sec. Sec.  401\, 508]. The SAB is the only Federal \nAdvisory Committee with responsibility to advise the Under Secretary of \nCommerce for Oceans and Atmosphere on long- and short-range strategies \nfor research\, education and the application of science to resource \nmanagement and environmental assessment and prediction. SAB activities \nand advice provide necessary input to ensure that National Oceanic and \nAtmospheric Administration (NOAA) science programs are of the highest \nquality and provide optimal support to resource management.\n    Status: The March 10-11\, 2026\, meeting will be open to public \nparticipation with a 20-minute public comment period at time allocated \non the published agenda. Public statements presented at the meeting \nshould not be repetitive of previously submitted verbal or written \nstatements. In general\, each individual or group making a verbal \npresentation will be limited to a total time of three minutes. Written \ncomments for the March 10-11\, 2026 meeting should be received by the \nSAB Executive Director's Office (noaa.scienceadvisoryboard@noaa.gov) by \nFebruary 22\, 2026 to provide sufficient time for SAB review. Written \ncomments received by the SAB Executive Director after this date will be \ndistributed to the SAB\, but may not be reviewed prior to the meeting \ndate.\n    Special Accommodations: This meeting is physically accessible to \npeople with disabilities.
