DESCRIPTION:NOAA’s Science Advisory Board will meet on March 15 and on March 17\, 2021\, from 1:00-5:00 pm ET each day. \nThe agenda is now posted. \n  \nMore information is in the Federal Register notice\, which is reproduced below\, and on the Board’s website\, where the agenda will be posted in due course.  The weblinks to listen to the meeting also are on the Board’s website. \n  \nSUMMARY: This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda for \nthe meeting of the Science Advisory Board (SAB). The members will \ndiscuss issues outlined in the section on Matters to be considered.\n\nDATES: The meeting is scheduled for March 15\, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to \n5:00 p.m. (EDT) and March 17\, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EDT). \nThis time and the agenda topics described below are subject to change.\n    For the latest agenda please refer to the SAB website:\n http://sab.noaa.gov/SABMeetings.aspx.\n\nADDRESSES: This is a virtual meeting. SAB activities and advice\n\n[[Page 8770]]\n\nprovide necessary input to ensure that National Oceanic and Atmospheric \nAdministration (NOAA) science programs are of the highest quality and \nprovide optimal support to resource management.\n\nSTATUS: The March 15 and 17\, 2021 meeting will be open to public \nparticipation with a 15-minute public comment period at 4:45 p.m. EST \non March 15. The SAB expects that public statements presented at its \nmeetings will not be repetitive of previously submitted verbal or \nwritten statements. In general\, each individual or group making a \nverbal presentation will be limited to a total time of three minutes. \nWritten comments for the March 15 and 17\, 2021 meeting should be \nreceived in the SAB Executive Director's Office by March 1\, 2021 to \nprovide sufficient time for SAB review. Written comments received by \nthe SAB Executive Director after this date will be distributed to the \nSAB\, but may not be reviewed prior to the meeting date.\n\nSPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS: This meeting is physically accessible to people \nwith disabilities. Requests for special accommodations may be directed \nto the Executive Director no later than 12 p.m. on March 1\, 2021.\n\nMATTERS TO BE CONSIDERED: The meeting on March 15 and 17\, 2021 will \ninclude (1) NOAA Update; (2) NOAA Response to SAB Report: Data Archive \nand Access Requirements Working Group on Preparing for a Cloudy Future; \n(3) NOAA Response to SAB Report: Ecosystem Sciences and Management \nWorking Group Report on Improving Fish Stock Assessments: A Report on \nEmerging Stock Assessment Technologies; (4) Update on Diversity\, \nEquity\, and Inclusion Discussion; (5) NOAA Response to CWG Subseasonal-\nto-Seasonal-to-Decadal (S2S2D): A Pathway to Improved Prediction White \nPaper; (6) SAB Climate Working Group Advancing Earth Systems Prediction \nWhite Paper; (7) SAB Ecosystem Sciences and Management Working Group \nReport on Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU); and (8) Update \non SAB Work Plan Priority Topics.
