DESCRIPTION:The National Academies of Sciences\, Engineering and Medicine will release the new Decadal Survey of Earth Science and Applications from Space (ESAS) on January 5\, 2018 at 11:00 am ET in room 100 of the Keck Center\, 500 5th Street\, NW\, Washington\, DC.  The event will be livestreamed.   The Twitter hashtag is #EarthDecadal. \nDecadal Surveys are conducted by expert committees organized by the Academies every 10 years (a decade) to provide guidance for NASA and other science agencies on the top priorities in space and earth science disciplines.  The first ESAS Decadal Survey was published in 2007.  This is the second. \nDetails on and registration information for the January 5 announcement are posted on the event’s website. \n
