DESCRIPTION:The Secure World Foundation will hold a virtual panel discussion on April 24\, 2020 from 10:30 am  – 12:00 pm ET to discuss “Russia’s ASAT Test: What Does it Mean?” \nRussia conducted a Direct Ascent Antisatellite (DA-ASAT) test on April 15\, 2020.  It was hardly the first\, but the timing amidst the coronavirus pandemic and two days before a Russian-American crew was returning from the International Space Station piqued interest.  The fact that U.S. Space Command publicly discussed the test was also unusual. \nMore information on the panel discussion and a registration link are on the event’s website.   The event is free\, but one must register in order to obtain the information on how to sign in to the meeting. \nPanelists are: \n\nChris Newman\, Northrumbia University\nPavel Podvig\, Russian Nuclear Forces Project\nVictoria Samson\, Secure World Foundation\nMichael Thompson\, amateur satellite analyst\nBrian Weeden\, Secure World Foundation\n\n  \n
