DESCRIPTION:The Senate Appropriations Committee will mark up four bills on July 27\, 2023 in 106 Dirksen Senate Office Building starting at 10:30 am ET.  The meeting will be webcast on the committee’s website. \nThe four bills are: \n\nDefense\nLabor-HHS-Education\nInterior-Environment\nHomeland Security\n\nThese are the last four of the 12 appropriations bills to reach full committee markup\, a remarkable achievement considering that it has been quite some time since the committee completed markup of all its bills at all\, much less before the August recess. The new chair and vice-chair of the committee\, Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) vowed at the beginning of the year to work in a bipartisan manner and restore “regular order” to the appropriations process and they are fulfilling the committee’s role in that.
