DESCRIPTION:Update\, February 27:  The committee announced this afternoon that DeWit’s nomination will NOT be considered by the committee because he does not need committee approval.  His nomination is on the “privileged” calendar that allows expedited consideration of non-controversial nominees.  Such nominations are not referred to committee. \nOriginal entry:  The Senate Commerce\, Science\, and Transportation Committee will meet in Executive Session on February 28\, 2018 to markup one piece of legislation and five nominations.  Among them is the nomination of Jeffrey DeWit to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of NASA. (The other four are for the Federal Trade Commission.) \nThe markup will take place in 106 Dirksen Senate Office Building at 10:00 am ET and will be webcast on the committee’s website.
