DESCRIPTION:The Senate Commerce\, Science\, and Transportation Committee will meet in executive session on January 18\, 2018 at 11:00 am ET in 216 Hart Senate Office Building to mark up seven nominations.  Included are the nominations of Jim Bridenstine to be Administrator of NASA and Barry Myers to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of NOAA. \nBoth were approved by the committee last year\, but nominations that are neither rejected or accepted by the Senate during one session of Congress must be resubmitted by the President in the next session unless the Senate agrees to waive that rule by unanimous consent.  It was not waived for Bridenstine or Myers.  President Trump renominated them on January 8\, 2018.  Thus they must be approved again by the committee. \nBoth were approved on party line votes last time\, 14-13.
