SUMMARY:SENATE COMMERCE SBCMT HRG ON INTEGRATING NEW ENTRANTS INTO THE NATIONAL AIRSPACE SYSTEM\, Sept 28\, 2022\,
DESCRIPTION:The Subcommittee on Aviation Safety\, Operations and Innovation of the Senate Commerce\, Science\, and Transportation Committee will hold a hearing on September 28\, 2022 at 2:15 pm ET in 253 Russell Senate Office Building on “FAA Reauthorization: Integrating New Entrants into the National Airspace System.” \nThe committee says this is the first of several discussions related to reauthorizing the FAA next year. \nIntegrating rocket launches and reentries into the National Airspace System to reduce the amount of time commercial airlines must avoid launch and reentry corridors is a matter of current debate. The witnesses at this hearing do not appear to represent space launch or reentry interests\, however\, so it is not clear if the topic will come up at this hearing\, which seems more focused on drones. \nWe list it here for informational purposes in any case. \nWitnesses are: \n\nLisa Ellman\, Executive Director\, Commercial Drone Alliance\nGregory Davis\, President and Chief Executive Officer\, Eviation\nColonel (Ret.) Stephen P. “Lux” Luxion\, Executive Director\, FAA Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ASSURE)\nStéphane Fymat\, Vice President and General Manager\, Urban Air Mobility and Unmanned Aerial Systems\, Honeywell Aerospace\nEdward M. Bolen\, President and Chief Executive Officer\, National Business Aviation Association
