DESCRIPTION:UPDATE\, MAY 7:  The votes are now scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday). \nOriginal Entry:  On Friday\, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell filed cloture on the nominations of three individuals to serve on the Board of the Export-Import (ExIm) Bank that will be considered by the Senate on May 6\, 2019.  The Bank makes loan guarantees for American exports\, including communications satellites. It requires a quorum of three Board members to make loans over $10 million\, but has not had a quorum since 2015. \nThese nominations have languished since 2017 because some members of Congress oppose the very existence of the Bank\, but apparently agreement has finally been reached on moving them forward to the next step. \nThe Senate convenes at 3:00 pm ET on May 6.  It will turn to these and other pending nominations at 5:30 pm ET. \nThe three nominees are: \n\nKimberly Reed\, to be President\nSpencer Bachus III to be a Director\nJudith DelZoppo Pryor to be a Director\n\nIf cloture is invoked\, up to 2 hours of debate is allowed on each nomination\, followed by a vote on the nomination itself.
