SUMMARY:SOYUZ MS-24 RETURN TO EARTH\, Apr 5-6\, 2024\, Kazakhstan (NASA TV begins April 5\, 11:30 pm ET)
DESCRIPTION:Update\, March 31:  Soyuz MS-24 will undock from the ISS on April 5\, 2024 at 11:55 pm ET. NASA TV coverage begins 11:30 pm ET. \nThe deorbit burn will take place at 2:24 am ET on April 6 and landing at 3:18 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins 2:00 am ET. \nThe returning crew on Soyuz MS-24 are: \n\nOleg Novitsky\, Roscosmos\, who arrived on Soyuz MS-25 on March 25\, 2024\nLoral O’Hara\, NASA\, who arrived on Soyuz MS-24 on September 17\, 2023\nMarina Vasilevskaya\, spaceflight participant from Belarus\, who arrived on Soyuz MS-25 with Novitsky\n\nUpdate\, March 22:  The launch of Soyuz MS-25 scrubbed on March 21 and Russia now plans to launch on March 23 instead. Consequently\, the departure of Soyuz MS-24 from ISS has slipped to April 6. \n\nThe state commission decided to provide the second attempt of the #SoyuzMS25 launch on March 23\, at 12.36 UTC. It will dock to the ISS on March 25\, at 15:10 UTC. The departure of Soyuz MS-24 with Oleg Novitskiy\, Loral O’Hara and Marina Vasilevskaya is now scheduled for April 6. pic.twitter.com/SxfPoNeXjF \n— Katya Pavlushchenko (@katlinegrey) March 22\, 2024 \n\n Original Entry: Russia’s Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft will return to Earth from the International Space Station on April 2\, 2024\, landing in Kazakhstan.  The time has not been announced as of March 18. \nSoyuz MS-24 launched in September 2023 with a crew of three: Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub from Roscosmos and Loral O’Hara from NASA. \nKononenko and Chub are staying for a year-long mission and will return in September 2024. \nO’Hara is there for a typical 6-month mission and will return on Soyuz MS-24 on April 2 with two others who are about to arrive on Soyuz MS-25. \nSoyuz MS-25 will launch on March 21 with Oleg Novitsky (Roscosmos)\, Tracy Dyson (NASA)\, and a spaceflight participant from Belarus\, Marina Vasilevskaya. \nNovitky and Vasilevskaya are only there for a short 12-day visit. Dyson is replacing O’Hara for a typical 6-month stint. \nTherefore\, Soyuz MS-24’s return trip to Earth will have O’Hara\, Novitsky\, and Vasilevskaya. \n
