DESCRIPTION:Updated\, August 27 \nGeorge Washington University’s Space Policy Institute (SPI) and the GW Law School will hold an in-person event on September 4\, 2025 in Washington\, DC. \nThe topic is “Space Law Across Borders: Comparative Frameworks in the United States\, India\, Japan\, and South Korea.” \nSpeakers include: \n\nRanjana Kaul\, Partner\, Dua Associations\, New Delhi\, India\nShimpel Ishido\, Partner\, Nishimura & Ashai\, Tokyo\, Japan\nNayoung Youn\, Senior Researcher\, Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI)\, Republic of Korea\nGabriel Swiney\, Director\, Policy\, Advocacy and International Division\, Office of Space Commerce\, NOAA\n\nThe first part of the meeting from 10:00 am-12:00 pm is at SPI’s offices at 1957 E St.\, NW\, Washington\, DC. \nThat will be followed by a luncheon from 12:10-2:00 pm ET at the nearby GW Law School where Swiney will give a keynote address. \nMore information and the agenda are on the event’s website. \nGW SPI’s Henry Hertzfeld and GW Law School’s Rosa Celorio will give introductory remarks\, along with Stefan Samse of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s Rule of Law Programme Asia (KAS RLPA). \nA virtual option is not available. \nRSVP in advance is required because space is limited.
