SUMMARY:SpaceX CRS-11 Launch\, June 2017\, KSC
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE:  June 1:  The launch was scrubbed because of a weather rule violation (a lightning strike within a 10 nautical mile zone less than 30 minutes before launch).  The next attempt will be on June 3 at 5:07:26 pm ET.   The weather forecast is 60 percent favorable.  NASA TV coverage begins 4:30 pm ET. ORIGINAL ENTRY:  SpaceX will launch its next commercial resupply services (CRS) mission\, CRS-11 or SpX-11\, to the International Space Station on June 1\, 2017 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39-A at 5:55 pm EDT. \n NASA TV coverage will begin at 5:15 pm EDT.  A post-launch press conference will be broadcast on NASA TV at about 7:30 pm EDT. \n In the event of a launch delay\, the next opportunity would be on June 3. \n Among the payloads are the Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) astrophysics instrument that will measure neutron stars and test\, for the first time in space\, technology that uses pulsars as navigation beacons; the Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) that will test deployment and retraction of a new type of solar panel; and the Multiple User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES) platform that will house high-resolution digital cameras and hyperspectral imagers.
