SUMMARY:STA EVENT WITH APOLLO ASTRONAUT TOM STAFFORD\, May 21\, 2019\, DC\, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm ET (invitation only)
DESCRIPTION:The Space Transportation Association (STA) will host Gen. Tom Stafford (Ret.) at an event on May 21\, 2019 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm ET in 2325 Rayburn House Office Building.  Stafford flew on four space missions in the 1960s and 1970s\, including the Apollo 10 mission which celebrates its 50th anniversary May 18-26.  Apollo 10 was a dress rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing two months later.  It completed all the steps except landing on the Moon. \nStafford will discuss the mission along with his thoughts on NASA’s current effort to return astronauts to the Moon by 2024 and the future of deep space exploration. \nSTA events are by invitation only.  Contact STA President Rich Coleman for more information: rich@spacetransportation.us. \n
