SUMMARY:U.S. SPACEWALK AT ISS\, Nov 1\, 2023\, Earth orbit\, 8:05 am ET (NASA TV begins 6:30 am ET)
DESCRIPTION:Update\, October 26: The spacewalk has been delayed to November 1 to allow more time for planning. The astronauts will exit the ISS at 8:05 am ET. NASA TV coverage begins 6:30 am ET. \nUpdate\, October 21:  The U.S. spacewalk (O’Hara/Moghbeli) will begin at 8:05 am ET and last about 6.5 hours.  NASA TV coverage begins 6:30 am ET.  This is the first spacewalk for each of them since O’Hara’s first spacewalk that was planned for October 12 has been postponed. \nUpdate\, October 17:  The first of these two spacewalks (O’Hara/Mogensen) was just postponed again until “later this year” as NASA continues to assess the impact of the coolant leak from Nauka.  However\, this spacewalk (O’Hara/Moghbeli) is still on for October 30 so far.  This was to have been Spacewalk 90\, but since it will now be the first of the two\, it will be Spacewalk 89.  A Russian spacewalk is scheduled for October 25 and they will take a closer look at Nauka. \nUpdate\, October 13:  The spacewalks have been rescheduled for October 19 and October 30. This one is October 30. \nUpdate\, October 11:  The October 12 and October 20 spacewalks have been postponed because one of the Russian space station modules\, Nauka\, leaked coolant on Monday and NASA is still determining if that might pose a hazard to spacewalking astronauts. \nOriginal Entry: NASA astronauts Loral O’Hara and Jasmin Moghbeli will conduct a spacewalk at the International Space Station on October 20\, 2023 beginning at 7:30 am ET.  NASA TV coverage begins 6:00 am ET. \nThis will be Moghbeli’s first spacewalk and O’Hara’s second. O’Hara’s first will be 8 days earlier\, October 12\, when she and ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen will do a spacewalk together. See our separate calendar entry for more information. \nBoth spacewalks are to conduct a variety of maintenance tasks on the exterior of the ISS.
