Michael Guetlein will formally relinquish command of the U.S. Space Force’s (USSF’s) Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo\, CA to Lt. Gen. Phillip Garrant. \nGuetlein was recently promoted to General and is now assigned as USSF Vice Chief of Space Operations. \nGarrant has been serving as USSF’s Deputy Chief of Space Operations\, Strategy\, Plans\, Programs\, and Requirements. \nGen. B. Chance Saltzman\, USSF Chief of Space Operations\, will preside at the ceremony\, which is the first change of command for Space Systems Command since it was established as a USSF field command on August 13\, 2021. \nChange of command ceremonies often are webcast on DOD’s DVIDS website. \nThe time of the ceremony was not stated in the media advisory\, which is reproduced below. \n \n  \n  \n
