DESCRIPTION:Update\, August 6: The flight is still scheduled for August 10 and company’s website says the livestream will begin at 11:00 am ET.  Check that website for up to date information. \nOriginal Entry: Virgin Galactic is targeting August 10\, 2023 for its first private astronaut flight\, Galactic-02.  The company achieved its first commercial flight on June 29 (Galactic-01)\, but the passengers were Italian government employees (two Italian Air Force officers and a scientist from Italy’s National Research Council). \nThis commercial flight is for private citizens. The passenger list was not released on July 13 when the company announced the launch date. \nSpaceShipTwo — the VMS Eve aircraft and Unity spaceship — takes off from Spaceport America in New Mexico.  The company said the mission will be livestreamed. Liftoff time was not provided but these flights typically take place in the morning. \n  \n
